Dr. Siyeon Kim
Meet Dr. Kim, Manhattan General Dentist

Providing comprehensive dental care in every unique patient’s case is what makes me passionate about my career. I strongly believe that dentistry is more than just “teeth,” as it encompasses a patient’s health, lifestyle, values, and previous experiences. All these factors become important pieces of one larger puzzle when formulating the best treatment plan for each patient. I want to collaborate with each patient in the most comfortable atmosphere to deliver the best aesthetic and functional results.
Education and Experience
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from University of Maryland, College Park, in 2015 before beginning my dental education at Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College. Four years of experience as an undergraduate researcher at Neuromechanics Lab bloomed my interest in dentistry, from biomechanical analysis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) to oral implantology and orthodontic movement of teeth.
Upon graduation, I received World Clinical Laser Institute Associate Fellowship Certification, as well as Invisalign Aligntech Certification. My hospital residency in dental medicine was completed at Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC), where I was extensively trained on emergency medicine, general anesthesia, and oral-maxillofacial surgery.
I actively participate in numerous forms of dental meetings and continuing education programs, including American Society for Dental Aesthetics (ASDA) annual conferences, where I was recognized as a Smigel Scholar. Being up to date with advanced dental equipment, materials, and techniques is a very important part of my career to provide the best possible comprehensive dental care and experience to my patients.
“Good dental care is essential to our health, as the health of our teeth is a general marker of our overall health. It is always our pleasure to bring gentle and detailed-oriented dentistry in a comfortable atmosphere to all our patients. Our practice offers comprehensive dental treatments, from the simple to the complex, and utilizes advanced dental technology to restore function, appearance, and wellness to the smiles of our patients.”
Smile With Confidence!
In the Community
Having grown up with a family member who needs special health care themselves, I became passionate about providing services for those patients who require individualized care. I then gained further knowledge through clinical trainings at Westchester Institute for Human Development. I have been serving at Special Smiles to create awareness and improve access to oral health care for children and adults with special health care needs. Through Special Smiles, I provide comprehensive oral health care information, dental screening, and instructions on correct brushing and flossing techniques to participating Special Olympic athletes.
Outside the Office
I grew up in Seoul, South Korea and Melbourne, Australia before moving to the United States as a high school junior. My primary school and secondary college education was focused heavily on visual and performing arts as all my immediate and extended family members practice art related careers. So, a dental career was quite a surprise for everyone (including myself) looking back. Every time we have a family gathering, I emphasize to everyone that art is a huge component of dentistry also!
Much of my free time is spent with my husband and our nine-year-old mini labradoodle fur baby. When I get a chance, I do enjoy travelling, running, cooking, and of course going on a weekly stroll to Trader Joe’s and Union Square Farmers Market!
